O mito do Core
O treinamento do Core supervalorizado.Abaixo os artigos<
The Myth of core stability (pdf)
Prof. Eyal Lederman
CPDO Ltd., 15 Harberton Road, London N19 3JS, UK,
AbstractThe principle of core stability has gained wide acceptance in training for theprevention of injury and as a treatment modality for rehabilitation of various musculoskeletal conditions in particular the lower back. There has been surprisingly little criticism of this approach up to date. This article will re-examine the original findings and the principles of core stability and how well they fare within the wider knowledge of motor control, prevention of injury and rehabilitation of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems following injury.Key words: Core stability, transversus abdominis, chronic lower back and neuromuscular rehabilitation

?Core? Stability ?Training? (pdf)
Mark Rippetoe
It is a matter of pride to me that I can go through an entire weekend seminar without once using the ?C?-word. Out of a concern for my participants and my reputation I fastidiously avoid using the term ?core? when referring to the trunk musculature or the stability thereof. I am so utterly goddamn tired of hearing about the ?core? from members of the lay public, infomercialers, doctors, PTs, ATCs, personal trainers, and strength coaches that as a form of protest I refuse to use the term at all. That is why it will appear in this article only in scare quotes. ?Core.? ?Core,? dammit.

Cost of Obesity Approaching $300 Billion a Year
The total economic cost of overweight and obesity in the United States is $270 billion per year while the cost in Canada is about $30 billion a year, a new study shows. According to the Society of Actuaries (SOA), the $300 billion total cost in the United States and Canada is the result of: increased need for medical care ($127 billion); loss of worker productivity due to higher rates of death ($49 billion); loss of productivity due to disability of active workers ($43 billion); and loss of productivity due to total disability ($72 billion). The findings are based on a review of papers published primarily between January 1980 and June 2009.When the SOA researchers separated the economic cost of overweight and obesity to the United States in 2009, they found that it was $72 billion for overweight and $198 billion for obesity. People are considered overweight if their body-mass index (BMI) is between 25 and 29.9 and obese if their BMI is higher than 30."Overweight and obesity have been shown to increase the rate of several common adverse medical conditions, resulting in this extraordinary economic cost to society," said study author Don Behan.
